Paradise of the Blind (retold story)

Who says that a handicapped persons cannot live a happy and normal life? In fact, they do, and some of them are much more happier and contented  than most of us. When I was a teenager doing missionary work in Davao, I went to a place, known by folks living nearby as the "Paradise of the Blind" . Living with them, even for a short period of time, is one of the treasured memories in my whole life. It amazes me, that though they were blind, they can do almost everything like a man with sight. It is my first time to see a blind man climbing a coconut tree, picking up, and husking coconut fruits. And mind you the landscape of their vegetation was so pictured perfect from all angles and directions. Their own houses was so neat and clean. Everything was in order. They cook their own food and wash their own dishes. There is no dull moment for me staying with them, I wished I could stayed longer. We shared a lot of things together. But I need to go and bid them goodby

ONLY ONE LIFE TO LIVE (from my Facebook Blog's corner)

My blog's corner" September 29, 2015  ·  Valentin Sarte I HAVE ONLY ONE LIFE TO LIVE , ONE LIFE TO SHARE AND MY LIFE WILL SOON WILL BE OVER. I HAVE SO MANY THINGS I WANTED TO DO BUT I CANNOT DO IT ALL. I DREAM TO HAVE A SIMPLE BUT HAPPY FAMILY AND TRIED MY BEST TO BE A GOOD HUSBAND AND FATHER BUT TOO MUCH EXPECTATION BLOCKED MY WAY TO REACH SUCH DREAM OF MINE. I LOOK FAR AND NEAR FOR A NEW LOVE AND I FOUND SOME. SHARING MY LIFE IS THE BEST THING I CAN DO SINCE I CANNOT OFFER THEM MATERIAL THINGS. SOME LOVE ME FOR WHAT I AM, THOUGH SOME HAVE RESERVATION ACCEPTING ME, FOR THEM LOVING A GUY LIKE ME IS BIG RISK. BUT I AM HAPPY AND THANKFUL THAT STILL THERE ARE SOME OTHERS WHO ARE WILLING TO DEFIED EVERYTHING IN THE NAME OF LOVE JUST TO BE WITH ME. WHO KNOWS ONE DAY WE WILL BE TOGETHER. HAVING YOU IS THE ONE I WISH FOR THIS SHORTER LIFE OF MINE. GRANT MY WISH DEAR LORD AND THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SIMILAR DREAMS LIKE ME. THIS IS THE

PINAY DH PHOTOJOURNALIST

Meet  ZYZA CRUZ BACANI , A Filipina domestic helper in Hong Kong for 9 years. She moonlights as photographer in down town Hong Kong during her day-off. She observed that Hong Kong is one of the most racist city in the world. especially when it comes to domestic helpers.  But the younger generation according to her were nicer, maybe because they were raised by domestic helpers from the Philippines. Zyza also  volunteered to work at Bethune House Migrant Women's Refuge, a shelter for abused migrant workers were she documented their plight.  MORE ABOUT ZYZA CRUZ BACANI A) Hong Kong Life with Camera / Zyza Cruz Bacani / TEDxHongKongED B) "Photographer.DH" / Howie Severeno / I-Witness MAY THE STORY OF ZYZA CRUZ BACANI BECOME A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION TO OUR COUNTRYMEN WORKING ABROAD AND TO OTHER MIGRANT WORKERS AS WELL.

Love, The True Essence

"Love, the True Essence" By Val Sarte Last night, after so long, I had opportunity to open the pages of my Bible and landed in the book of Genesis. I want to share with you today is the story which I read and it is somewhat like the famous "ALDUB FEVER", a "A Kalye Serye" of Eat Bulaga. A story of modern day romance that makes us titillate and even jump for joy. Jacob, the son of Isaac is about to find a wife and was advised by his father to go to a "Paddan-aram" and there h e will find his wife. The first encounter between Jacob and Rachel was "Love At First Sight" this is what we called today. When Jacob see Rachel, he came near to her rolled over the stone covering the mouth of the well and watered her flocks then kneel-down and kissed her. Jacob loves so much Rachel and served Laban, the father of Rachel for seven years in exchange of Rachel. At this point, let us make our imagination works and picture out when

WHAT HAS BEEN BROKEN IS BROKEN

"Nothing is ever truly broken". That is the philosophy behind the ancient Japanese Arts of Kintsugi, which repairs smashed pottery by using beautiful seams of gold. This practice started way, way back in the 15th Century when Japanese Military Commander Ashikaga Yoshimasa accidentally broke one of his favorite Chinese tea pot. (picture taken from BBC Arts Get Creative) Because he loves so much the tea pot, Commander Yoshimasa went to repair shop to get it fixed. But he was dismay over the result. From then on, Japanese Craftsmen come up with more pleasing method of repair. As you can see it from the illustration above and because of the treatment and application being applied no trace of evidence that it was formerly broken into pieces. I wish that this method of fixing broken teapots either made of glass or ceramic can also be applied in our relationship once it was broken into pieces.
