Cat-and-Mouse Game of Politics (updated)

Latest News:

Philippine Politics is like a cat-and-mouse game. They said that the "Cory Magic" was buried to the ground when President Cory Aquino died. They said, the Yellow Magic no longer exists but in contrary, the game is not yet over.

The cat is unable to secure a decisive victory over the mouse, who despite not being able to defeat the cat, is able to avoid capture.

Today, the Duterte administration is the cat and Vice President Leni Robredo's group is the mouse. Because of the present trust rating enjoyed by President Duterte, no way Vice President Leni's group can defeat the President.

But the mouse can outsmart the arrogant cat. It is the bad habit of the cat that after the capture of his prey, he release it knowing that the prey is weak enough and cannot do any harm to him.

If the President and his men are not careful enough, one day, they will wake up in the shoes of the mouse being chase by the cat. A change of fate can happen at any given time.

Take for instance the statement of PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa calling the critics of War against Drug ingrates. It is ungentlemanly behavior coming from the top ranking police officer whose main job is to serve and protect the Filipino people.

Here comes the Solicitor General  Jose Calida, who vowed that the government would not allow any individual or groups to overthrow the administration of President Duterte. Before they succeed, they will be crippled already even before they could carry out their plans.

What is happening in our country today?  it is very unfortunate for us to have  these kind of leaders. Pronouncements or statements like these will be a minus point for the administration and a change of heart of their supporters.

As early as this, the administration is campaigning for 12-0 in the senate slates come 2019 local and national election. I believe, it will not likely to happen.

WHAT HAS BEEN BROKEN IS BROKEN

"Nothing is ever truly broken". That is the philosophy behind the ancient Japanese Arts of Kintsugi, which repairs smashed pottery by using beautiful seams of gold. This practice started way, way back in the 15th Century when Japanese Military Commander Ashikaga Yoshimasa accidentally broke one of his favorite Chinese tea pot. (picture taken from BBC Arts Get Creative) Because he loves so much the tea pot, Commander Yoshimasa went to repair shop to get it fixed. But he was dismay over the result. From then on, Japanese Craftsmen come up with more pleasing method of repair. As you can see it from the illustration above and because of the treatment and application being applied no trace of evidence that it was formerly broken into pieces. I wish that this method of fixing broken teapots either made of glass or ceramic can also be applied in our relationship once it was broken into pieces.
